Falls Road A.M.E. Church's 7th Annual Turkey Drive: Harvest of Giving
Falls Road A.M.E. Church, Nov 18, 2025
The church held its 7th annual Turkey Drive this past Saturday, extending a helping hand to families in the community. Organized by The Missionary Society, led by Falls Road A.M.E. Church President Sister Lelia Newkirk and Reverend Dr. Marlene Mitchell, this tradition has become a symbol of hope during the holiday season.
This year marked a special milestone with the generous donation of 100 turkeys from Robert Dozier, President and CEO of RWD Consulting, LLC. His commitment to the community ensured that these turkeys not only filled plates but also warmed hearts, helping families in need gather around a festive table and easing the burden of financial stress.
Dedicated volunteers from Falls Road A.M.E. Church and RWD Consulting, LLC came together to distribute turkeys, gift cards, and thoughtfully assembled holiday baskets. This heartwarming effort created an atmosphere of anticipation and gratitude while highlighting the church’s generosity. In a special act of shared support, Falls Road A.M.E. Church regifted 10 turkeys to Cowdensville A.M.E. Church, exemplifying the spirit of interconnected community care.
The impact of this year’s Turkey Drive reached far beyond the church walls. Five families from Arbutus Middle School, a total of 29 individuals, received holiday baskets made possible through supplies donated by Cowdensville A.M.E. Church. These baskets included all the essentials for a Thanksgiving meal, amplifying the spirit of giving and demonstrating the community’s commitment to spreading joy and support well beyond its immediate reach.
The combined efforts of Falls Road A.M.E. Church, RWD Consulting, LLC, and other supporters show how unity and shared compassion can transform lives. The 7th Annual Turkey Drive stands as a powerful example of a community creating a lasting legacy of generosity and the true spirit of giving.
